Product Description
Meetthi Maa | Raw Forest Bee Honey
About our bee honey
- This pure raw bee honey is extracted by the locals in Himachal, filtered and packaged by the self help group.
- The honey is sourced from the forests which are ecologically rich with wide range of medicinal herbs and flowers making it superior for consumption.
- The taste, the colour and the consistency all speak volumes of it's purity.
- Never heat honey
- High temperatures can destroy the natural enzymes and yeast in the honey. This process may also result in honey losing the natural antioxidants and nutrients, thus resulting in a loss of its medicinal properties. Hence, honey is at best had with warm water and not hot water.
- Honey from the same brand might taste different every time
- The taste of the honey depends on the flowers that the bees "feed on". Depending on the season or changes in the floral patterns, the honey from same brand might taste different.
- The colour of the honey also varies with floral patterns.
- Usually, darker the colour, the more "honey taste" it will have.
- There is a difference between pure honey and raw honey
- Raw honey means unpasteurized and untreated. Pure (even if true) might still mean heated honey for better shelf life
- In certain cases having honey might not be advisable
- Infants below the age of 1, diabetics (although better than sugar but excess honey can be damaging) and people with pollen allergies need to have it with caution
